Angling Trust News 02-02-18

Fri 02 February 18

The Angling Trust is pleased to announce that the venues and dates have been selected for this year’s World Club Float and World Club Feeder Championship qualifiers. With the ever-increasing demand for both contests the Angling Trust is releasing the dates early so that teams can get both qualifier dates and practice in their diaries.

*World Club FLOAT Championship Qualifier*- Furzton Lake, Saturday 6th October 2018.
*World Club FEEDER Championship Qualifier*- Gloucester Canal, Saturday 29th September 2018.

One of the most important factors when picking both of these venues has been the fishing on offer. Both fisheries have provided some excellent match weights last year across a multitude of different species; this lends itself to both a very diverse and competitive match.

With the introduction of the World Club Float Championships Qualifier the qualifying position for the 2019 FIPS-ed World Club Championships (float based) will once more return to a dedicated competition (as opposed to a Division One qualifying spot in 2017). Both the Float and Feeder qualifying events will be run to FIPS-ed rules to reflect the challenges teams will face in the World Club Championships. There will also be substantial prize monies available in each respective competition.

Neither competition has a sponsor in place at present, as a result teams wishing to represent England in either the float or feeder events must fund their own participation in the respective World Championship. The World Club Float and Feeder competitions will be held in Croatia and Portugal respectively in 2019 and thus teams should expect costs to be circa £8,000.
