UK Match Angler Results

Mon 27 June 16 - The Glebe

Dave Brown showed off his skills at The Glebe Fishery in Leicester recording a win from an un-fancied area during Round 2 of the Old Ghost backed UK Angling Championship.

All eyes were on the higher numbers of Lake 1 but the Penkridge rod amassed an impressive 208.02 of carp and skimmers fishing primarily down the edge on corn from permanent peg 76 on lake 5 amongst stiff competition in a difficult section. Brown earned £1000 for his efforts, and a decent placing in the championship standings but elsewhere around the complex many of the front runners after round 1 were having a tough time.

Tournament leader Andy Power could only manage a fifth, but fortunately for him, many of the “big guns” blew out in what proved to be a very high scoring match for the frontrunners after Lindholme. Dale Shepherd was not one of those and a second on Lake 7 put him tied at the top of the table with Chris Barley who’s section win on Foundation put them both on three points.

The ever consistent defending champion Jon Arthur took a second in section to remain second in the title race at the half way stage as the leader board shuffled itself around dramatically.

Round three moves to Boddington reservoir, a venue that has not been part of the UK Camps tour before.
