Angling Trust announces England Veterans team 2018
The Angling Trust are pleased to announce the Veterans World Coarse Championship team for 2018 representing England in the FIPSed World Veterans Championship in Croatia from 16th – 17th June.
Following a successful assessment trial that was held earlier this month on the River Nene at Ringstead, near Thrapston with seven anglers in attendance, the England Management selected a five-man team. Some steady catches were caught all day with the best weight on the day 11lb from Stan Binge.
The team selected are;
Joe Roberts, England Manager stated “This year I think we have a very good team going out to the World Championships. We did not know much about this new category of Veterans until Christmas time as normally we hold trials in September, so we have done well to select a team for the event in only four month’s time. I will be managing both the Masters (previously Veterans) and Veterans squads this year and have just came back from Croatia to look at the venue, the Mura River, as this is a totally new venue to us so it will be important to do a lot of planning ahead. I’m very confident in the team this year and have high hopes of a podium finish.”
The Angling Trust offer its support and best wishes to the England Veterans Team competing in the World Championships this year.
