Dumbell hookbaits have been a massive part of the big carp anglers hook bait arsenal for many years now, producing some of the biggest fish eve caught from British waters. Then a few years ago, match anglers discovered that these pellet shaped hookbaits were also ideal for match sized carp, bream, tench and barbel. Taking this on board, the development team at Oxfordshire based Drennan put their heads together and earlier this year, they released the Bandit F1 & Bandit Dumbells, read on as the UKMA team take a good look at them.

These pellet shaped boilies offer an alternative to round boilies, when feeding fish are backing away from your usual round boilie hookbaits. they can be attached to your rig via a pellet band (thus the name Bandit) or you can use a bayonet to attach them, the choice is yours. The sizes available are ideally suited to all larger species including carp, bream, tench, barbel etc. The four different flavours and colours options in the range, offer you the angler plenty to choose from to keep the bites coming

When targeting smaller fish like stock carp and F1’s and when targeting big fish in the winter months. A smaller hookbait is required, introducing the 6mm sized Bandit F1 Dumbells. These 6mm sized dumbells give your feeder and method feeder presentation a huge visual attraction, which can lead to faster bites in a competitive situation. As with their larger brother, these are also perfect for use with a pellet band but we have found that a bayonet attachment also works perfectly.

Final Thoughts

Both the Dumbells 8mm & 10mm and the Dumbells F1 6mm are available in four different colours and flavour, these are white Scopex Syrup, pink Crab & Krill, yellow Pineapple Punch and orange Tutti Frutti (The UKMA teams personal favourite). by carrying a selection of both options, you’ll have enough size, colour and flavour options to keep the fish guessing and biting. You should expect to pay £2.99 per tub, which is super value for money.
